A classically trained pianist, Michele began composing when she was 4 years old. She studied at the Harlem School of the Arts (Harlem, NY) while attending the Bronx High School of Science.

Michele's educational children's music has been an effective behavior modification and foreign language instructional tool within the Prince George's County (Maryland) and Loudon County (Virginia) public and home school co-op systems.

For her sophomore non-fiction book project, Hairlooms (Simon & Schuster), she composed the musical score for the promotional video and has created music for inspirational conferences.

Prior to earning an M.A. in Journalism from American University, Michele earned  a B.A. in English (Minor in Spanish and Music) from Bucknell University.
